A Day in a life of Nytro Marketer: Meet Jaime Salazar, Global Head of Experiential Marketing and Founder at Nytro Marketing

Updated: Apr 5

What does a typical day at work look like? What are some of the routine tasks, and what's extraordinary about it?

When not traveling for an event or global project, I could not start my day without a good sweat at the gym or pool and a good refreshing shower, only then I can kick the day off :) Then emails, social media and start shooting, lunch with family or friends, and back to shooting until late at night, reviewing open tasks and planning the next day.

What trends do you see in your industry and how do you plan ahead with that in mind?

I see hyper-specialized events happening more and more and I believe we should jump onto that bandwagon. Clearly digital and AI is strongly taking over our industry and we need to become the opinion leaders in those areas.

What's the biggest challenge you've faced so far in your industry and how did you overcome it?

I think customer budgets are our day-to-day challenge. We need to be very creative to bring their expectations into line with the reality of their budget. Bringing sponsors and alliances into the equation in many cases helps to grow the budgets we have to execute.

Also, a challenge in our industry is how to better balance ¨digital¨ with traditional marketing. Companies walked away from in-person events and I strongly believe we should go back to in-person. This is a daily task we need to work on with metrics, results, trends, success stories, etc.

How do you unwind after a hectic day at work?

Tequila and beer is always a good solution. There is a saying in Mexico ¨Para todo mal Mezcal, para todo bien, también¨ (for all bad, drink Mezcal, for all good, as well)

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want with you?

Family, friends, and Nytro.

If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Never doubt, it will come better and bigger, sooner or later!
